Designing with technology
Our cars are packed with the latest technology, yet we still design building electrical systems based on old 230v wiring. Using todays best practice, and products based on international standards we make buildings better for the current time and long into the future.
Let's make buildings a delight to be in, packed with the best quality, best looking, most efficient and effective technology, so they perform the best for the building owner from the day they move in.
Smart Buildings are:
• Simple, Aesthetically beautiful
• Efficient – they save money
• Convenient and stunningly simple to use
• Time savers
• Provide peace of mind and remote control
• Environmentally friendly
Technology in buildings should be:
HOW FAR TO TAKE IT
Many things can be achieved with building technology. For a great outcome have a vision of how to live and and then include right technology in the plan, at the right level, at the right budget.
Decide how to wire - One choice, three options
When building, one of the most important decisions you will make is your choice of electrical system. These choice will affect the security, comfort and lifestyle that your family enjoys while at home. Your choice will also determine your homes' on-going costs of ownership, it’s capital value, and it’s environmental foot print.
You have three choices; an un-automated 230V system, a proprietary single manufacturer system, or the KNX worldwide standard open protocol system. We cover each of these below to help you decide which solution is best for you.
USE THE ‘best in class’ building technology
Before the first brick is laid on any new building in today’s modern world, the infrastructure for controlling that building MUST be added to the design. WIFI simply won’t be enough.
In practice the system we recommend most often is KNX. The only international standard for building control, backed by 30 years of building control excellence. With over 250 million products installed around the world you can be confident your building will stand the test of time.
KNX system operates on a standardised bus cable with a common language, allowing different products to work together, controlling all aspects of home and building control such as: lighting, heating, cooling and ventilation, blinds and shutters, security and door communication systems, audio and video, and metering.
With KNX there are no more problems of isolated devices or systems not being able to talk to each other.
